Sourcing
Everything we make is connected to family farms. When you purchase from Farm Hounds, you will always know the exact farm we worked with to make that product.
We maintain the connection to the farm through the entire process by placing the farm name on every product.
Availability
We choose to source from working farms which means animals may not mature on our timetable. At times, this means we do not have access to the products we want or need. However, we continue to identify small, true working farms that we can partner with to help minimize any shortages.
Storage
Keep in a cool/dry place. Our dehydrated products are free of preservatives and pesticides, and although it is very uncommon, bugs and mold (from added moisture) are your two culprits for causing trouble.
For chews and hides, especially after a chewing session, avoid sealing them in plastic or containers that can trap moisture. Allow the chew to air out and store in a cool/dry place.
For longer storage, the freezer can be a great way to keep our products fresh, and away from bugs and pests that might show interest.
Chewing is one of the best mental and physical activities a dog can participate in!

Dental Health
Want to save your dog from dental disease, horrible breath, and teeth cleaning bills? Then give your dog a chew for around 10 minutes every day! Similar to humans, canine dental issues can impact the overall health of your pet. Not only is gnawing and chewing a great mental and physical exercise, but it cleans teeth and strengthens gums. Daily chewing is just like brushing teeth for humans!

Recommendations
Limit chewing to 15-20 minutes per session. Most dogs feel fully satisfied (endorphins get released in the brain) after short sessions of back-of-the-jaw gnawing. After chewing, store the hide out of sight and give again when you need the pup to have some down time.
Safety & Supervision
All chewing should be supervised, especially when your dog is trying something for the first time. When giving chews that have dehydrated bone, you want to make sure the dog has the jaw strength and patience to chew/crush the bones before consuming. If a sharp edge or inappropriate chewing behavior is ever discovered, we recommend removing the chew for safety reasons.

My GSP loves all chews and immediately loved this hairy cow ear! My mixed breed is a bit pickier and wasn’t so sure about the hair at first but quickly decided she did in fact like it.

I got four scratch-n-dent beef hide rolls, two medium and two extra large. They’re awesome! My dogs went nuts for them and they last a really long time. The XL gave my Doberman at least two hours of chew time spread over about a week. Let it dry out between chew sessions to get more mileage. Pictured are both sizes after 30 minutes of chewing by the Doberman and the Rat Terrier.

My dog is obsessed with beef ears! Out of all the items that she’s tried from Farm Hounds, these are her favorite. I like them bc she eats them slower than the rawhide. Yes, I said eat…she devours it all. I don’t even know how she does it. She loves gnawing on these. And I mean, back of the jaw, eyes rolled to the back of her head, in pure ecstasy bc these are so good! Today we tried the misfit version and she didn’t care at all. It was the same thing, just not as pretty. I’m including a picture of the huge beef nose bc her nose looks cute. It’s folded in half so much larger than the pic. I’m so glad that we found this company. We are working on getting extended family hooked on these so we aren’t the only house with the good treats. It feels so good to be able to give her items that her species crave naturally without worrying about chemicals or the ingredients. Thanks, Farm Hound!

My fur kids love the hairy cow ears! I can give them the chews under supervision and still get a few minutes to myself without them dropping a ball at my feet or ruffhousing.
